Quilting for Beginners Series

Have you been curious about quilting but feel intimidated to take it on? Perhaps there is a quilt pattern you’ve had your eye on or an idea to make a quilt for a gift but aren’t sure where to begin. This beginner friendly class will break down the entire process of creating a quilt from beginning to end into easy steps to guide you as you venture into the wonderful world of quilting!

A beginner friendly quilt pattern is included with this lesson with options for making a wall hanging or baby-sized quilt.

Part 1: Creating a Quilt Top

If you have ever attempted to make a quilt, you may have found that the pattern includes very detailed instructions for creating a quilt top, but when it comes to finishing a quilt, the guidance is often limited. When I made my first quilt, I felt completely stuck after completing the quilt top, unsure of where to find information about what to do next. This is the class that I wish existed when I was first learning to quilt. In this class, I walk you through exactly how to finish your quilt, offering a variety of finishing options along the way. Whether you are new to quilting or are an experienced quilting hoping to refine your skills, this class will guide you through each step of finishing your quilt.

If you have completed a quilt top and are looking for guidance on how to finish it, or if you are looking to learn a new finishing technique, this is the class for you!

Part 2: Finishing Your Quilt

Triangles are such versatile shapes to use in quilts, so it’s no wonder they are featured in so many traditional and modern quilt designs. Triangles offer balance, variety, and can be arranged in endless ways.  In this class, I will help you level up your skills by showing you how to efficiently cut and piece perfect triangles.

n this class, which is Part 3 of the Quilting for Beginners series, we will build upon the skills we learned in the first two classes by creating more advanced triangle blocks. I will share with you my tips for constructing, trimming, and piecing triangles, ensuring your design comes out just as you envision. We will cover four of the most common triangle blocks: half square triangles, flying geese, square in a square, and half rectangle triangles.

This class includes 11 video lessons, a comprehensive resource book, TWO free patterns, and a bonus pillow cover tutorial.

Part 3: Mastering Triangles

“Wonderful class! I did the first part as well, and because of that class and this class, I was able to complete my first quilt. I referred back to this class multiple times during my quilt's construction, the videos and explanations were extremely helpful. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in creating a quilt..” - N.B.

“I downloaded Adobe Illustrator and then did a Google search to find some lessons on how to make a quilt in Illustrator and found this class. I had never opened Illustrator before this class. I now have a library of quilt block shapes that I can use to start dreaming up quilts of my own and even my own mock-up. The instructor is super responsive and answers questions in a very detailed and easy to follow way. As the description states, this class focuses on the mockup of the quilt, but not how to then turn that into a pattern. I highly recommend this course.” - Tasha
